New Blog Design ~ YAHOO !!

Hi Stampers:

As some of you have  already noticed and posted  your sweet comments ( Thank you  so MUCH!)

  My dear friend Michelle  got my new  blog design up  this afternoon YAHOO!

 OH my  goodness  I am sooo excited  and I so love my  new Blog  design and color ~  New catalog tomorrow New Blog  design today   I am one excited gal  thats  for sure .

I will  be  moving things around on my  side bar in the upcoming days  So please be patient  with me  and Plus Michelle  is  still hard at work  on my blog as I write this .  Thank you  so Much Michelle for  designing me  the most beautiful  Blog  ever!  

I will be adding Michelles  Blog badge on my  side bar  soon  But  until I do that   you  can see  all  the fabulous things Michelle  can do by clicking HERE ..

OF  course  you  won't see anything as pretty as mine over there  ( just kidding ) .

 Michelle  does AMAZING work  I felt  she  was all mine  during my blog tranformation even though  she is a very busy lady  she  still made me  feel like top priority.

Today I wanted to share  with you  all what one of the  2 projects  we did this past Saturday night  with my  Club girls .

OH how I love this fancy watercoloring  technique  Which my Great friend Patty  did a video on YAHOO!!!

Seriously   you  will be  sooo impressed  with yourself  all you  will want  to do is look at that beautiful Rose  when you are finished :) No 2 roses  will be alike  ~ well unless you make a million of them, then I am sure there  may be 2 that are simular .

For my Card I used Shimmery white card stock # 101910 and  Regal rose  refill #105223  for the  rose

 I used the Always artichoke card stock #105119 For my base card  and the leaves 

 I also used  the Texturz plate #1 Background #114512  & Stampin'Up! the little leaves # 114511 Sizzlits die with the Big shot #113439

 The greeting " From the Heart" is from Holiday & wishes #114984 stamp set

I love This card .

What ? Merry Christmas ?

Hi Stampers:

 So  many of  you  are starting your Christmas cards right  now ~

At least that's  what I heard  from Laurie  at Club night  Saturday  night  and also from  alot of you  during my Phone- a-Thon a couple weeks  ago . 

Well here  is another one of those  simple No layer  cards  BUT  this one is  a Super  cute Snowman /Christmas card .

I used the Brand  new Hostess  level 3 stamp set Called The more  the Merrier...

Remember  my cupcake~ no layer card~ I made  using this same  stamp set ? Click  HERE  to view that one.

These 2 cards (Cupcake ( previously ) & Snowman  )  are  from the 5 cards  I made for my Stampers Club  Hostess  Carol  this past Saturday night.

Here  is  a upclose photo of the  snowmen  .

The Merry Christmas greeting  is from the Brand new stamp set called Teeny Tiny  Wishes  That I punched out  with the  Word window punch#105090 . Then  I used the Brand new Modern label Punch  in Bashful blue card stock .

Dawns Sunday Share ~ 6-28-09

Hi Stampers :

We are down  to the last few  days  of the current  catalog .. Are  you  ready  for the new catalog ?

 Guess  what   I  and thousands  of other SU! demonstrators will be  doing in  just alittle  over a Month from now ? ( ok it's about 37 days but  who's counting  right ?)   Going to Stampin'Up! Convention YAHOO!! 

Convention is  for  SU! demonstrators  and  what a blast  it  is...  Check out  this video HERE  PLUS  

OH my goodness these guys are coming back this year YAHOO!! You check them out HERE This song  they did last year was such a HOOT!

 OH YEA SU! really knows  how to  have a FABULOUS   Stampin party .

 I am sooo excited !

I also wanted to let you  know  that over the few weekends I will  not be posting  on my  blog on Saturdays or Sundays.

 1st thing on the list  is  I have VBS songs I need to learn  and be able to teach to my  Kids  for VBS  the week of July 13-17th.   The Funny thing is   it  takes me  weeks to learn  the  songs  and movements  and  my VBS kids learn  them in 5 days   some  sooner :)  Is this a sign I am getting old Hee! Hee!  Seriously  I may  know 2 of the 5 songs BUT I do not know  any  motions  to any of them and I have 2 weeks  to  get them down

 Plus getting  ready for Convention  and  the best part of the month of Aug will be that  My Hubby  will be home again mid August for 2 weeks YAHOO!!  PLUS We will be celebrating our 21st Wedding Anniversary.

The new catalog are in the House :) YAHOO!  if  you pre ordered  a catalog through 1:00pm ( eastern time ) today then  your new catalogs  will be on  its way to you .

 The catalogs  will be leaving the house  in about 1/2 hour  and  dropped off at the post office & then on the  way  to  your Mail box .

Happy Birthday Cupcakes ..

Hi Stampers:

 OH my  2 days in a   row  with cupcakes ~ Hummmm  Is there a hidden message or something ? Hee! Hee!

 No hidden message,   just lovin  cupcake stamps lately :)  

This is one of the   Brand new Hostess  level 3 Stamp set called The More the Merrier  from the new catalog  that will start  July  1st .

This set is sooo sooo  cute . It has this cupcake stamp  along with  a  snowmen stamp, Pumpkins, Birds  and a  couple other images  Plus  lots of greetings

The  greeting on my  card  today is  from  a Brand new stamp set  called Teeny tiny  wishes .

OH my goodness  I am  going to be using this set alot ,The greetings  are  small enough to fit inside the  Word window  punch#105090 perfectly , which I then layered on the brand new Modern label Punch.

 I used the following Stampin'up! Markers  to  color in my  cute cupcakes :

and Real red #100052  for the  cherry on top .

 Just a sweet simple no layer card ( I love these type of cards ) I just need  to add  some  dazzling  diamonds to make it even better :)

Crazy for Cupcakes ..

Here is another Faux Grid  card I made  using the Crazy for Cupcakes  stamp set # 111618

I did a  video on this technique  resently  and  you  can find  that  by clicking HERE

I used Green Galore  Card stock # 101768 and Green Galore Marker# 100048  with the Tempting Turquoise  Card stock#102067 and  Tempting Turquoise Marker#100058  I really  love these colors together :)

Brand New goodies ...

Hi Stampers :

I  got to play with some of my  brand new goodies this weekend YAHOO!!

Here is the  1st card I made. 

For my  card I used the  Brand new  Stamp set called Animal stories &  the new  IN color polka dot  ribbon  in  Melon Mambo  Just love all those polka dots    But  you  already  know me  and my  White  gel pen are favorite friends HUH:) 

I also used the new  In color Classic ink & matching card stock in  Melon Mambo   The "Thank you"  is  from Enjoy every moment  stamp set # 113622.

 Do  you notice in the photo what else is  Brand new in the upcoming catalog IN color  Markers OH my  goodness  I am sooo excited  about this !  Seriously  This is the best  thing ever :)

I also used the Large Oval punch # 107305 and the Scallop oval punch # 114889

Here are the new colors  for  2009/2010~ All of which are  Just Fabulous!!

I Hope the  new catalogs   are delivered  this week so I can get them to all of you  that pre-ordered  a copy by July 1st .

Happy Fathers Day .

I was able  to  use some  new goodies this weekend  YAHOO!

I am offically  caught  up on  all my  Thank you  for your orders.  So sorry for the  delay  in getting them to you .

 So  with  me caught up that  means I got  to  have  fun stamping  with all my   brand new goodies .

 Even though  I know this stamp set Under the stars # 111556 is  not actually Brand new, BUT It is to me  since I just resently got it . I thought it was  perfect for a Fathers day card .

I think  the shadow box  card has to be my  all time  favorite  card  to make because it is so easy and sooo much fun to create .I have a Video on the shadow box card HERE

I really Love all the images  in the  stamp set But  what cracks me  up is the "Skeeter Spray"  What a Hoot :) 

Even though I know this is a Fathers day card  I just had to add a  touch of dazzling  diamonds   in certain places ..

I shared this  video with  you last year and well I  love  it  so much that  I thought  it  was worth sharing  again this year for Fathers day .

 

I want  to also share  this adorable photo of a Father  and his baby  that were  across  from  us on the plane ride on our return  from St. Maarten~  Is this  photo priceless or  what?

  They both  slept  for the  entire  plane ride  from Atlanta to Detroit.

Today we went to meet  with Jessie New school  Counselor   and set up all her  classes  for next year . I guess I have  been spoiled  with sending Jessie  to the same  school   over the years  BUT  Gee whiz  a new school  sure does need alot of  items (Property tax  record  from last year /  Current  copy of  electical  bill / Shot  records / School Trans-scrip / Birth Certificate/  & maybe  even a little  blood  while we are at it .. Just kidding :) 

 Jessie is  really  excited  to  go to  the new school  NO uniforms  and  LOTS of kids  ( maybe  to many )  Her  11th grade  class  had 8  total OK 9  including the  teacher  But that doesn't  count .

Independence Day note cards ...

Hi Stampers :

Here are a couple  note cards I made with the  retiring stamp set Independence Day #114992

Well I am  excited to report I have  started on my  To do list  Yesterday  and  Have  got  alot  done  since  being back  home  from  vacation  But I must admit  I  do  seem to get side tracked  Ya know  when you  start  doing  something  and  mid way you go off and start something  else .

Here is where I am on my list :

I got Thank you  Notes/ FSM tokens made and sent out  up through June 5 

 Yesterday I got  all  8 of my Newest  Glitter Queens packets  sent out  to those who  joined  My Glitter Queens  stamping  team while I was  away

DVD orders   are  being  finalized  today and  hopefully  shipped out today .

My Stampers club is next week I  will start working on  the projects  we will be making. Our Hostess ~ Carol~ wants  to  make  the Mirror Image  card  using  Lovely as a tree  stamp set. I did a video on that  which you  can view HERE  

Jessie  got a new phone yesterday  since her  charger  thingy  broke. I must admit I am soo proud  of Jessie  since she  went  through a little  withdraw from her Cell  while on  vacation  NO verizon  in St Maarten ( Go figure )   I Only heard  her  say somthing  about her phone  maybe 2 times tops  the  whole  2 weeks  which if you have  teens   and  love texting  You see why I am  so proud of her .

Called  and set  up appointment  for Jessie's NEW school  year yesterday . We have  been  in  deep prayer  re: Jessie  School  next year  and  we are  going to be  sending her  to public  school for her  Senior year .  For  reasons I will not  mention  BUT  We all have  such a peace  about  this new adventure  for her .

Rich is on his Way back  to Iraq as of Last night .

Michelle  is  working on My new blog banner  and  other goodies  We  got the  final  design  for my  banner  as of last night  I am very excited  to have a new blog  design  for  the  new SU! catalog   starting July  1st . I soo appreciate Michelle  and her  patience  with me  while  designing my  blog banner :) Thank you Michelle

Speaking of July  1st did you  see the  button on top right ?  You can  pre order a new catalog right now . I  do not have  the  catalogs  in my  Home But as soon as they arrive I will ship them out  to you .  OH my  goodness  I have  a copy of the new catalog ( SU! By OFF  I mean  the  normal  days  of my video posting  will be  out of order  from the normal posting  days  which are Thursday, Friday & Saturday . That's  because  of my  Special 1 day event  SO I will  mix it up alittle  But  there  will  still be  3 videos  still this week .  Hopefully  next week  everything  will be on track again .

Our VBS  at church is  in July  and is approaching so Fast I still need to  study the music  YIKES!! Please Pray for me :)

 Just wanted to let you know I made it home  and we  even went out to dinner with all our  friends  from church tonight   BUT not before we stopped home to see Bowzer  and  get our Luggage  in the house..

Dawns Sunday Share~ 6-14-09

Hi Stampers:

This morning  I will be on my way home  from St Maarten.( You can click on any photo to enlarge your  viewing if you like )

Our flight  leaves at 8:30 am this morning  and we have a lay over in Alanta for  almost 2 hours  Then we will arrive  in Detroit  around 5:30pm tonight . WOW what a Vacation  Gorgeous Wheather , Beach every day & sight-seeing  during the afternoon.

  I thought I would share a few more photos   with you  for my Sunday Share  again this week . Jessie Rich &  I are big  dog  lovers  so it is no surprise  we  just about  went crazy  when we seen Gypsi .

 Jessie is holding  him  he is sooo cute :)

Gypsi is 8 months old and sooo little~  I would be affraid  to step on him.

I think  know Jessie  would have  taken him  home  with us in a Minute~ BUT I'm not  sure how Bowzer  would be with that  and I am sure Gypsi's mom would not be happy  either . Even though we  seen  a few  really  cute dogs here on the island  I was sad  to see  not to many heathly looking  dogs  walking around .

Jessie has  fun  straighting dads hair when he  comes home  each time  and  being on  vacation  was no different . Rich  said  when he  1st went to Iraq  that he wasn't  going to cut his hair Until he  comes home  for good . He is  saying that his hair is  getting on his nerves  . 2 people on the island  said Rich looks like the wresler Triple H .  HUMMMM Don't know  to much  about him . 

Rich is leaving  back for Iraq  tomorrow  Night ( Monday) Just wish we had him  for 2 weeks here at home .Very soon he will be  coming home  for good  we are  shooting  for  March when he will  come home  for good ~ Hopefully  sooner .

We entered another drawing  here at our resort and we  won some Beautiful Jewerly and   we all got a Really great Brown Tan  I don't think I have  ever been so tan in my  life . 

The  sun is sooo Hot here I felt like a fried Egg  on the beach so I was in the  water alot  which by the way the best  drink on the island is a  BIG glass of Ice  cold water :)

. Rich loved  snorkling & Jessie  didn't  cause  she  seen lots of fish that freaked  her out :)

While at Orient Beach we rented  a jet ski and Jessie was a wild woman on that thing . She fliped  her dad off 3 times . I wish I had  be able  to video tape  that BUT they were  to far out

We  found a  Really  cool shop here on the island  called Del Sol Jessie and I got  some  nailpolish that changes color in the  sun  and  rich got a  new pair of sunglasses that change  from silver to blue in the  sun~  such a fun fun shop .  Jessie  & I  painted our nails  But  the Ocean water ate it off  every day  so after awhile we gave  up

Very little  American music  here on the island  Good thing we  brought our I-pods .

St Maarten  is sooo beautiful and we had a Blast  .

Grommet video..

Hi Stampers :

I am sure you noticed  the  cute little hardwear I added to my  card  when you  1st saw it the other day.  

I want show  you how easy they are  to use in todays  quick video posted below  .

There are 2  different  sizes  in Grommets available  right now in the Occasions mini  you have  the

Basic Small Grommets # 114349 and  also the

Basic Large  Grommets # 114348 ( which is  what  I used on my  card  sample ). 

Both Sizes come in assorted colors all in  one package Black, White, Silver  and Vanilla .

I also used the chocolate chip corduroy button#114339 to the center of the  grommet.

LOVE IT!!!

St. Maarten / St. Martin

Hi Stampers:

I thought I would share  a little  about St Maarten  and  what I have  learned about this beautiful island  since being here :

St Maarten /St Martin 2 names  for 2 difference  areas  St Maarten is the dutch  side  and St Martin is the  French side.

The Island is ONLY  37 sq miles and has 37  beaches  1 beach for every mile of the island and all beaches are topless and the  water is the most beautiful  turq. I have ever  seen .  Approx 80,000 people live on the island. Everything (  stores/shops/) closes  here around 6:00-6:30pm  the only  thing open late are the clubs / casinos/ restaurants . Alot of places are closed on Sundays . We did  find 1 grocery store  in Phillipsburg open on Sunday

Maho Beach is the most unique since this is located at the ocean - approach end of Juliana International airport Planes comes in  less then 50 ft  over your head. It really is a sight  to see  and  kinda spooky.

Orient beach  is the most active  beach on the island  and is 3/4  of a mile long  lots  to do at this beach BUT  beware the  southern end of the beach is  for Nudest  or what they like to call Naturist:)

There is even a named Dawn Beach how cool is that . we have also been to Mullet Bay Band Baie Rouge Beach.

Shopping: 2 awesome places for  Great  shopping  Phillipsburg( Dutch side ) and Marigot  Market (French side)  we have  been to both  and  they are  really  Great Plus  you  can always make a  bargain  I got a beautiful beach cover up   that  was  selling for $55.00 for $20.00. You can get ( 3 ) t -shirts  for $15.00  and Jessie  and I both got 2  sundresses in  tropical prints  for $12.00 each 

Duty FREE shopping:  All shopping is Duty FREE  which is  also  nice .  US citizens  regardless of age  who have been out of the country  for  a minimum of 48 hours and have not used their  duty free allowance  within 30 days  are  allowed $800.00  duty free tax exemption  for family  members  who live in the  same home  and  return together can pool  their  exemptions  so  Rich, Jessie and I  will have  a total of 2,400.00  worth of duty  free articles . Which I might add it a LOT  since everything is  sooo inexpensive here .

US money  is BEST But  if you plan to use  your  credit card do so at  your  own risk since the credit card company will charge  you a  exchange  rate  and  their  rate is NOT  good  +  you  will also be charged  an international  fee  No need to  exchange  US $  to Euro since  the island  will accept  US dollar and will be to your advantage.

Dawns Side note:

Shopping  at local stores/grocery most  price items in NAF  just keep in mind  that the dollar  amount is usually 1/2 that what is listed ob the item , So if a item is 16.00 in NAF  the US dollar amount  would be about $8.00

Transportation :  Small cars, jeeps, 4 wheelers , scooters  and motorcycles and of course  walking  No  stop lights  and  no stop signs  they have alot of  round abouts  here  which helps  with heavy traffic  areas . Everyone beeps their horns   and  you  either  move fast  or get out of the way :) Hey thats my type of driving Hee! Hee! roads are very narrow & It is amazing driving  up hill 

Food : The food is amazing  Here. There is a sunset  dinner  cruise  that is amazing . They have American fast food places here  as well ( McDonals / BK/ KFC/ Pizza Hut/ Sub way  even though  we have not  ate there to see if they taste the same BUT I am pretty sure they do .The drive thur's are  really  different here also.

Temps: always  high 80's-100's  with very high  humidity   which makes it  feel very sticky.  Bring Lots of  sunscreen.  We had one  rain storm since  being here  and it  didn't  last long  If you  seen my photo gallery  you can view  the  double rainbow photo we seen after the  storm.

Loterie Farms  for  easy- ride  zip lines , At least 13 Casinos are all over the island as well if thats your thing .

If I could  sum up our vacation so far in 2 words~ 

LOVE IT!!

Embossing Aluminum Foil video ...

Hi Stampers :

Today I want  to show  you  how  to use your Big Shot #113439  to emboss  aluminum foil that you seen on my Many Mower  card  from yesterday HERE.

I will be  using  the Backgrounds #1 texturz plates #114512  the Tiny  polka dot  side. After  trying this a  few times  I found a way  to   emboss  this  very thin  foil . You may have  already known this But   for me I guess it  took me  alittle  longer :)

If all goes as planned I will have  5  days  of  videos  for you  starting  tomorrow  But lets start  with  todays card  which  will be the  highlight  of  Tuesday & Wednesdays  videos. Tomorrow  I will show  you how to use  your  big  shot  to emboss   the Aluminum foil I used on my  card  today ..

 I know what you  are  thinking  cause  I thought  the  same  thing  well thats easy  enough  right ? well if you have  tried  this  with your  big  shot  you  will see  there is a trick to it  which I will show  you  tomorrow .

 I just love  the  way this card Looks like  tons of  chrome  just perfect for  a Fathers  day card.

Sweet Matchbox ..

Hi Stampers: 

 Such a sweet little match box  for little goodies  to go inside  which mine is  holding  the mini Snickers  candy  bites :) YUMMYO!! 

I just love my Big  shot# 113439  and  todays  project is just  another reason why ..

I used the Matchbox  Bigz XL die# 114890  from the Occasions mini .

My Friend Patty  has a Fabulous video HERE on  how to cut  your  paper for this  cute little  matchbox ..

OF  course  you  can always  cut  your paper   to the exact measurments  of each section  for your box pieces 

  BUT  either way  you "Cut it"  ( no pun intended )  You  will find this Match box  die  is super fun to make and  really  great for those  small treats .
