My Shellac Nails update :

Hi Stampers :

 As of 2 days ago ( Tuesday April 4, 2011 )  I have offically  had Shellac on my nails for  (14 ) days .

Unbelievable  is what comes to my mind .

Holy Moly   No chip's ~No peeling ~ still glossy  too .

I took this  photo of my nails on Tuesday aka Day 14 .

The only  thing I have noticed is that my nails are growing much faster -vs- the Shellac to come off ( which is a good thing ) .  I have new growth showing under the french manicure and also at the cuticle line .

BUT  other then that they still look  great.  I think   in the future  10-11 days is when I will redo mine  since I think 14 days is alittle  to long for a French Manicure ( shows new growth to much )  .

I will be trying a  solid color called "Rock Royality" its purple ( Yahoo!)   and I think it will be  alot better looking after the 10+ days

As of today  Thursday I still haven't removed  the Shellac  but will be doing so this morning .

Removing Shellac  is at least a 10 min process you  will need  to soak  your nails in Acetone Nail polish remover  and then  from there I have no clue ( Jessie  will be doing that )

 Jessie said the Shellac  will either peel off or  you  need a orange wood stick to scrape if off after you soak them for 10 mins in Acetone  polish remover  .

Now I will be attempting to do Shellac on my nails myself

Bathroom Drains moved

Hi Stampers :

Just wanted to pop in  and  show  you a photo of the  finished  bathroom  floor. Before  photos click  HERE .  Hubby  did a Fabulous  job  and  He cut  the green board  for the walls  But it is not  offically put  up  as of  right now  but  even that  looks Great  .

I kinda like that  seafoam color LOL ..  Hummmm what color  do  you think  we should paint that bathroom  since I am on  the hunt  for  paint  colors thought I would see what  you  all think ..

We have a dumpster being dropped off this morning .

Ice Cream Party for Pastor ..

Hi Stampers:

Sunday night  after I got home  from church I had   high hopes of  uploading  the pics  from the Ice Cream party  for our Pastor Sunday  and sharing them with you  all yesterday BUT  I got busy doing  something else  so I totally  forgot .. so I thought I would share   a couple photos  with you  today .

The main item I wanted  to share  with you  were the cute Ice Cream sundaes  we made  for  center  pieces  for the tables ..

These are  sooo  cute  and  super  easy  to make  just roll pink and white  tissue paper  into small balls  and  insert in to  cup ( scooped ice cream) the  crimped  paper  (Whipped cream) and the Play dough  is  rolled in to a  small  ball for the cherry  on top .. So cute huh?

 This cute idea came  from my friend Linda & she just told me  what  to do  ( Love  you Linda )

Also Linda brought  her  adorable  carousel horse  she usually has on her  front porch of  her home But went perfect with the ice cream theme.

By the  way here  are a couple photos  one is of my  wonderful friend Linda ( love her )  and the other is of our  wonderful Pastor  and his family ( Love them  too) Yes  this is what our Pastor looks like without  the cheerleading costume on HERE  from VBS  this past July LOL

Dianna  added the  copy of her  drawing  to a cd  for  furture  things  we  would like  to do with her creation like make a T shirt  or whatever else ..  and get this  she  drew  this in  Ink  not a pencil  WOW!

  We  all love it  Thank you so much  Dianna   and look at her card she sent me as well  she  hand drew the hat herself as well  She is pretty amazing  and I personally think  SU! needs  to give  her a call and hire her . WOWZIE!!  

Ok so what's new at the Griffith house ? Here ....I will just show  you  what Jessie got done yesterday ..

Yes  this is a real Tattoo on my little girls foot  Yup you know me I had to take  a before and after photos .  I do believe  this may be the one  and only tat she gets  but she  was a trooper  and the flower is what she had been wanting for a long time . 

  Her best Friend  Ash got a tattoo as well  not the same thing  as Jess But they both got them  done yesterday  here is a photo of Ash's tat  she got hers on her thigh 

 OUCHIE is all I'm going to say.

My Valentine card from Jessie....

I just had to share  with you  the  sweetest Valentine card  that my Jessie  got me yesterday .. Yes  "sometimes " even a store  bought  card can  bring  a BIG smile and  lots of Love to a stamper Mom on Valentines day ..

Is this just the sweetest card ever ?  OH my  goodness . I  wanted  to show  so you  can enjoy it  right along with me :)

Jessie's room update ..

Hi Stampers :

Happy New Year friends :)

Here are  some photos of Jessie's new room . There  were 3 things  she asked  to do  to her  room this time around .

1. She  wanted  to change  the color  from pink and orange to Purple & Gray  actually  the  colors are called  Darkest Grape on 3 walls and  Elephant skin  gray  on the 4th wall and ceiling  from  home depot in Behr paint . The colors look fabulous !

2nd  she wanted  to have a a sitting area   for her and her  friends when they come over . We found this  super cute  mini couch/ pull out bed  at Ikea  for less than 150.00  in Dark gray  the photo looks  like its black ~But it isn't

3rd  she wanted to  add a  new closest organizer  for her clothes. Since she lost her  large  dresser she  need  more  space  for the items  her large dresser  held . We had  since add a new curtain  to close off her closest.

Jessie Loves her room ..  I feel as though when I go into her room  it's like a college dorm room,  everything has its place  and is just perfect for her and what she  wanted .  :)

Dawns Nail Polish Video

Hi Stampers: 

a little  something  different for you  this Mothers day weekend.

 I have  had sooo many requests on  what color purple nail polish I wear ~ so I thought  I would do a  quick video on the  ones I use, PLUS show  you a mix  on  what Jessie like's ( which I will be wearing that  shortly as well  since it is  sooo stunning ) 

The Nail Savvy  is mine &  Jessie's  Favorite  But I have resently  found a purple  from Sally Hansens  that is  nice  also .

I  will also highlight  a couple other products I  use  when using colored nail polish  to help  it from chipping  so quickly . 

Nail polish is  sooo fun. 

Thank you  for all your  comments  on my nails & my  nail  polish . I wore  acrylics  for  many many years ( even before Cosmetology school )   just a  few years  ago  I had   taken  them off  and  haven't  went  back . I was  also a Major nail bitter growing up.

Great Pickle Search update & More ...

Hi Stampers:

I think this may be  the last Great Pickle search update  for awhile  thats because  many of you  posted comments  and  sent me  emails  re: my Most favorite pickle .. 

Many  posted for me to Just ask  my BP gal  to order me  a case of these fabulous  pickles ~ that I can ONLY get from that BP gas  station . 

DUH  I should have  done that  sooner  since I chat with her all the time  about different  stuff .

 LOOK  what I got last week  . The  Pickle  guy makes 2  deliveries  a  week  and  this past Tuesday was   one of his  days & she  got me a  whole case of  these fabulous pickles  I requested  that if there was any way I could get them  at room temp that would be Great ( since I wanted  to send  some pickles in the mail ) Just wasn't  sure about  sending  refrigerated  Pickles  through the mail BUT I said  if she  couldn't get them at room temp I still wanted  a case (12 in a case ) .

Well  this past Tuesday I  picked them  up and  they were at room tempt YAHOO!  The worse  part is 3/4 of  them are  gone  due  to me getting Jessie  hooked on them  now ..  BUT  really I am not  complaining  cause I can always Get MORE!! :)

 Ok on the  subject of Jessie  look what she  did to her Bedroom  door  she  took 6x6 designer paper  and decorated  her  whole  door .. Sooo snazzy  ILR  she  asked  me  to take a look at  what she did  and  Lets  just say I was impressed ..  In the center of her door  she added  her name  which   was smart since  it  could be mistaken  for  entry  to my Stampin  room Hee! Hee!

Just think of all  the doors  she can decorate  with the  buy 3 get 1 FREE special going on right now HERE

Last night  Jessie had  her  Friend Chelsea  spend the night & We went to BD's Mongolian Barbeque for dinner YUMMYO~

I received  a email this morning from my hubby  requesting Prayers.  His base  started  getting hit  with bombs  again last night ~3 bombs  threw over  near his living  quarters   and 5 people killed.

Dawns Great Pickle Search ...

Happy  Friday!!  Double  post today  scroll  down to view todays video .

 Todays  2nd post is  NSR  (Non stamping  related )

In My never ending  search for the Great Pickle I thought I would  send out a personal A.P.B  ( Amazing Pickle  Bulletin ).

  As most of my  readers know  I love pickles and  my  family can share  stories  with you HOW much I LOVE pickles  and  yes I Love Love Love Pickle  Juice too ~ WHY OH WHY don't they sell just the pickle  juice?  I would buy  it  :)

My search for the Great pickle  search  is  for Not  just Any pickle  It has  to be  sour  ~ You know the ones that make your lips pucker  and eyes squint ( I see you  doing that face right now ) ..

 I have  found  the bestest pickle ( so far )  at my local BP gas station  called FREESTONE ( see above photo ) I have   went  to  the companys web site  for shipment ( of the one  above )  BUT sad  to  read this  flavor pickle is only  sold to retailers  and Not to the public ( me )  in  quanity BOO HOO!

 I also  contacted  Freestone  & wanted  to know if I  could just purchase  the  juice ~ well  I think they  think I am a weirdo  since I haven't   heard  back from me  Boo Hoo!   so My BP  station is the only place that I have  found these pickles   ..

Next in line  would be  the  hamburger  slices  that Aldi  sell OH MY goodness  these pickles  ROCK!!  and  for $1.29 for a  whole Jar   I am in Pickle heaven ~ sorry no photo  cause I ate them all :) Hee! Hee!

 Next on the  list is  Vlasic  pickles 

HEY  did you know there  is a scale  on the Vlasic  pickle jars ( maybe it is just on the  dill pickle jars )  ~ 

 I did find   whole pickles  (not  slices ~ but It doesn't  really matter to me ) at Sams  club ( yes  the BIG jar ) BUT  they  only  are a #2 on the scale 

 BUT rest assured I found  a #3 scale ( see photo )   at my local Walmart OH my  goodness  these are soo YUMMY too

 I have never seen a #4 or #5 and believe me I have searched  SOOOO  if you know where  PLEASE  tell me !

  My  good  friend Gina bought me  Pickle  chips..   Which by the way are  really very  tastey BUT not  like having a real pickle IMHO ( in my humble opinon )  But  a very  very good fill in  for the pickle crave  :)

Soo my  Great pickle  search brings me  to you my Fabulous stamping  friends  Where  are the Best Pickles ? 

 Jimmy  Johns isn't  sour enough (Plus  you  don't get the juice), & sweet pickles YUCK.

Believe me I have tried them all  BUT  I am  always open  for more AWESOME pickles  to join my list .

  I actually  was going to post this  on April fools  day BUT seriously  This is NO Joke  Just ask my family.. They have Stories  Trust me :)

Yes I was  over  due for  a upgrade on my  phone  BUT was waiting  for a Purple Razor  and well they don't make the Razor any more ...WHO cares right Its purple & I  LOVE IT!!!  ..  It is sooo  beautiful  IRL..

Detroit Tigers & More

I  found these little  boxes of  chip board  pieces at  the dollar store  and  I grabbed  one of each design . This is the  1st  card I made with this design box called "Baby Boy "  I think its sooo weird  making a card with my name on it  I just wish I  more letters  cause I would make all my  "Dawn " Friends one too .. Yesterday  We decorated our  church hall  for a  fellowship dinner we are having with  the Missionaries that are in  town  this whole week  so you  all know where I am going to be  today HUH?  Here is the theme  we decorated in  "He's got the whole world ~in His Hand ". Just curious have any of you  seen Expelled :NO Intelligence Allowed   yet ? I really  want to see this movie I have heard  really  awesome things  about it .. man I am really jumping  all over the  place today  sorry But my mind seems  to  be  going in  different  directions as I write this .. so with  that  how about seeing a less than 4 min video from our Saturday at COMERICA PARK with   our Detroit Tigers ..  beware  the  1st part of the  video may make  you  little woozie  with Jessies  sudden movements  But  its still fun  the  rest of the video is  just a FEW highlights  that I caught on  video  NSR ( Not stamping  related )  But  OH soooo AWESOME!! My 1st Detroit Tigers Game

  WHO's YOUR TIGER ?

 

OH my  goodness  what a  Fabulous day yesterday was   we were gone  from 9am until late last night  we got  to  meet  so many  Tigers  that  each gave their  personal  Testimony of  Christ in their life ..  I personally think this   was the best part of the  whole day  It was amazing .. I have alot of videos I need to make for my hubby  WOW!!! Here are a few that  shared what Christ has  done in their  life

After we  heard  the players  testimonies  we all got to go on the field  and Look~ here are our feet on the  turf.. WOW  what an amazing  feeling  being on the  field  and not a dandelion in  sight LOL... Tigers won 6~ Angels 4

Over 42,000 in attendance for the game  Over 5,000  for Home plate  event . I  had sooo much fun and  believe it or NOT I can  understand  why so many LOVE Baseball  Its sooo AWESOME  who would have thought  that ? NOT me  LOL  So many highlights   I will let the rest of the photos speak  for themselves .

 

I must share  this   funny moment  with you all  after we are in our seats  probably  20-25 mins or so   have passed loud speaker  comes on  and  says  there is a car in the parking lot ( License plate  number is read & type of car ) that  is still running  and  is Unlocked and Keys are in  the ignition .. Not thinking anything  about it  But   really who could have  done that  ? All of a sudden Our Pastor  jumps up and  takes off  and  Guess  it was  Our Pastor Brad's car .  NOW Whats  really  amazing  is that NO one actually  drove off with it .. I mean really  we  were in  Detroit  LOL :-) Praise  God !! Such  a Fabulous day  I am really looking  forward to next year  to  go with my honey bunch ..One thing we must not  forget next year is the Sunblock ~YIKES!!!

NSR update ..

Hi  stampers ..

I got my  Grand Prix back yesterday late afternoon  and it is sooo  pretty YAHOO!! .. As much as I  enjoyed driving my  hubbys fancy truck I sure missed driving my  car  even if it was for only 3 days. Here is  a new photo of the face lift  my car received  along with a  Super cute Car Model LOL.  Clarkston  Auto body did a Fabulous  job .    I received  the Car Model AKA Mr Crabby pants  from my blogger friend  ALANA  she mentioned to me she was at the Seattle airport and seen something  that made her think of me  and  Guess what she bought it  for me ... He is sooo stinkin cute .. you  wind  him up and  he crawls sideways  OH my goodness  Thank you  so Much Alana  I  Love  your  gift  and thank you  for thinking of me .. Long live MR.Crabby pants Hee! Hee!

Also look  whats blooming  at my  house .. Oh I Love  my  tulips . Just wish they  lived longer.. I even have ones that are  mix  colors this year  sooo pretty .. 

Today Jessie Has a 1/2 day of school  YAHOO!!  then she  goes to the Chiropractor

Tomorrow  Jessie and I are going to the DETROIT TIGERS game  at Comercia park in Detroit with  some friends.  We get to go on the field and meet  alot of the players  and do a few activities  on the field also  Then we all are staying to watch the game  which Tigers play the  LA Angels  gonna be a  super fun day, I'm the 1st to admit I am not a  Huge  baseball fan in general  But Looking  forward to hanging  out  with my  friend Linda  and the whole gang . Will have  some photos  to share last  this week .

OH MY!!!

Look what happened to me on the way home from dropping Jessie off at school today .. It  looks bad But  It's all  going to be ok. Praise  God no one was  hurt  and  My Insurance   company will be paying for the 1,300.00  worth of damage  and It was NOT my  fault ... We live  between  2 schools  one on  each  end of our street  and for  some  reason  the  parents  at the elem. school  park their  cars  on both sides of the street  which they are NOT to do .. while I was  passing   the truck which was parked Illegally her son  swung open the  back  driver side  door  really fast to get out to go into school and well you  can see what happened next right ..  Just praising God  it wasn't worse . I will be taking my  car in next week to be fixed  and make it look like new..  sooo while my  car gets  a face lift, me and a rental car have a date next week  for 3-5 days while they replace the  front  fender , fix my  door  and  put a new mirror on .

What's Up?

What's Up! ~ Or  should I have wrote  it the way Jessie says it ~  SSSSSUP! :-)

NSR  today girls .. Just getting  ready for  the  videos this week wink wink !! So today I thought I  would share a  little  about  whats going on in our neck of the woods .. Plus  share a New  hairdo  that Bowzer has  Hee! Hee!

This past Monday I called and got appointment's  for Jessie.

#1.  To have her 4 wisdom teeth pulled YUCK!  Its looking  like the end of May  for  that to happen  since she will be out of school  then for the summer ..

Then #2 appointment ~ Brace yourself Jessie  will be starting  driving training  June 13th  I am in a wee  bit of  shock that we would be  approaching  such a   wonderful day in my  Daughters  life already  .. Where oh where has the time  gone .. The  really  cool thing is that her last day of Phase 1 will be  on the day her dad comes  home  for R & R. SOOO  I guess you  can say  Him & I will have a  Chauffeur alot of the time when   he is home ..( Its been a long time  since I sat in the back seat with my hubby ( kwim? ) I am  so excited for her  But  Not as excited as she is of course .. #3 Then last night Rich & I decided  that we would   cash in our  resort points which are going to expire  in 2 weeks ( WHEW did that in the nick of time )  for  (3) 4 -day hooper  tickets to Disney  YAHOO !! I feel a  Florida  vacation  coming  in the near future....:-)

Is this the cutest  thing or what .. Here is Bowzer  with the Pirate  hairdo Hee! Hee! ..  You can pimp your pooch(  or cat  I suppose)  HERE  can't wait to see what your  fury friends look like .. Will you pick the Jessica, Ashton , Donald trump or  another one  that they have listed over there  ( Bowzer is a Pirate ).. Its to  fun! Jessie and I would have  done PINK but Bowzer is a Boy  you know :-) and Johnny Depp is a hottie , So I guess this makes Bowzer a "Hot" Dog.. Hee! Hee!

A few of you  have asked  what have I been making lately  with my new Cricut ..  Well Jessie sure has put my  Cricut to work .. Jessie had Spirit  week at school this past week and  for her  class poster  they  used the   scripture  Galations 5: 22-23  and Look at all the  words she  cut out using  my new Cricut ... Their poster   has a tree   with  Oranges ( basketballs ) all over it  with the faces of  the Basketball team on the  oranges   then on  the side of the   trunk they will add the  Fruit of the spirit words she cut out  with my cricut  ( see photo below ) ... the  words  are

Jessie is sure glad  she didnt have to hand cut  each of the letters out ..  One of the spirit days  for dressing up was ERA day  Jessie picked the 50's  and here she is dressed  like the 50's   Hey SU! demos notice the glasses I recieved these a couple years ago  at SU! leadership Seminar  .. Here is a photo of a few of her classmates  with their  finished  poster ..  pretty AWESOME huh?  I didnt realize  how big the poster  was  Its HUGE !! Ok I changed the  home page  background .. I think over all anything may be better than the black one from this weekend .. Thank you  girls for  letting me know your thoughts  and I soo appreciate all of you that voted  and  left comments / emails ..  ( results below )  I  went ahead and  closed the  poll  since I wanted to get that Black off ASAP .. Personally I love this one  since it  is  Christmasy and all  so  let me know what you think of this one ..    Of  course I will  go back to my purple one  down the road  But  for alittle while  I  Think this is cute ..

My baby is 15 today ..

Happy birthday to the  sweetest   baby girl  ever .. Yes she was  such a happy  baby.. WHY didnt  we have  more   babies ?  cause she was sooo good  I knew the next one would be a  hand ful .. isn't that how it always  works ?  WOW what a  sweet young  lady she has become .. and  We are soo blessed to have her as our  daughter ..  want to see more baby photos of her  click HERE. Normally  I   try and keep  this blog  to stampin  goodies But I thought  so many of you  are  like family  to me  SO I thought you may like to see my baby now ..  WOW hard to believe she is  6'1 and 15 years old  and in the  10 grade now .. Gee whiz  time flys  huh? what a personality  she has and  a tender heart for the Lord. One thing that cracks me up about her is she   does this thing with her left  eyebrow. ya know when Mom does  something goofy  she  gives me the   one eyebrow  arched  up  look..  She gets her  thick  curly  hair,  long legs   from  her dad .. She  has been a total Joy  to  watch  her  grow . and What a blessing it has been to have her with me  when  dad  is  gone . Our relationship has  gotten  stronger  and sweeter  by the  day .   Thank you Lord for  giving us  such a  wonderful baby  girl

"YOU MAKE ME SMILE"  awardawhile ago .. you all are sooo sweet ..  you all make me smile too ..  So many friends  all over the world   You all make me smile too .. so if your reading this post consider yourself tagged with this award also ... Not sure what I am  to do  But  from Sarah's Post I guess I am to list a  few  things about myself ..

1.I love  pepperoncini juice with Tuna fish (  sooo yummy )

2.I love pepperoncini peppers with  cottage cheese ( werid  HUH)

3.Funny thing is I never liked hot things until after my knee  replacement  surgery.. My Family   now thinks  I have  really  flipped out when I eat the  peppers  and Franks Hot  sauce  with everything   (Now thats weird )I really  believe it now when they say  that your taste  buds  change every 7 years   cause this must be the reason  why ?

4.I have  lost a total of 45 lbs to date  want to lose another 20 or so .

5. I  drive   nearly  50 miles every day to take  daughter  to school / come home  Then go back  and come home once again Thats a lot of gas  HUH?

6. I love the Ford Edge truck  sooo  awesome looking .. But we paid off my  Grand Prix  a couple months ago  so I love  my car even more  cause its paid off and  We are not typically a Ford Family  More  GMC But I do like the looks of that truck

7. I  probably  eat 3  BIG pickles every day  with of course a little  pickle juice on the side ..

I know i am sooo weird  HUH? Have a fabulous night girls  and thanks for popping in ..I am off to  watch my favoritest  show   Biggest loser on  my Tivo  which  is the best part cause  I can fast forward through the  commericals  wink wink ..  And we all Gotta love that ..

DOUBLE Post today girls ..

Hey .. Guess who loves  corn on the cob too ??? It's Bowzer of course Hee! Hee! Today my  Mom  brought us over  some  really  yummy  corn on the cob  and  after Jessie and I ate what we wanted  Bowzer seemed to be  wanting to have a  piece too :-)  so here he is  in all his glory " eating his piece of Corn on the cob .. How funny is that .. Now I really think I have seen it all  .. well until the next   time  anyway ..Bowzer does not  normally eat people food  But  who would have thought  he would have actually  eaten it .. Silly DOG!!

Update on Hubby :

Today he has finally  arrived  to his next  base he will be at  until  at least  Dec 1st ( Jessie's B- Day )  Great news  He has  his own room  with adjoining  wet bathroom  ( which means   him and his  next door  neighbor in the same trailer  has  a  shower and  a toilet, and sink of their very own .. ) Much better than  walking   3/4's of a mile to use   the bathroom   as before  YIPPEE!! He said his room is HUGE  and  he has  his own twin size bed ,  dresser draws , night stand with a light  , Full  size desk  and walk in  closet ..  NO phone  But he  will be letting me know if he  has Internet  in his room  YAHOO!!  OH one other   Top priority news He  ate at Pizza Hut on the base .. He said he is living like a Rock  Star .. How  cool is that ..  I   really and truly  know this was  an  answer  to Prayer ..  Praise God!!!  Thank you all for your prayers ..He has been stuck in Baghdad  for the last 4 days  and finally  got a charter flight out  last night  and arrived  today  some time( our time ) ..  I am  just soo happy  for him and Praising God  for  all  HE ( God )   is doing  .. He is  also using Rich to witness to many of the  Muslim( sp?)  workers there  and telling  them all about Jesus and HIS love for them . I know  we  are not to be prideful But  girls I am sooo very proud of my hubby  to  see  him  working  for our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ   during this  tough  time being apart from each other .. God has  many Plans for all of us   we just have to be still long  enough  to listen ..

A  side  note from Home base ... 

I have the  sewer  Guy coming tomorrow  seems  the tree  roots (  neighbors lovely  tree ) are  getting in the way of my drains  once again (  a procedure  we do every 6 months or soo )  and  water is backing up in my  basement  so   the   drain guy  is coming  and praising God for  that too .. know why ?  cause I seen it before my basement  was  overflowing in a pool of water . .. Thank you Lord !

I am off to get  things  moved for tomorrow  for the  drain cleaning  guy   and then I will be sitting  in front of my  TV watching  one of my  most favoritest shows CSI.. ( YIPPEE!! )
