Gotta Love Orchid Opulence HUH? This card is actually a oldie but a newbie technique I learned from Karen G ( Hi Karen
) This oldie technique is called Joseph coat New technique cause instead of applying ink from ink pads with dauber I used SU! Markers .. Using Glossy Cardstock take 2-3 coordinating colors and just scribble all over your glossy cardstock.. leaving very little white showing once your done scribbling run your embossing buddy over top of the glossy with Marker scribble . Then take a solid image stamp and ink it up with versa mark and stamp over top of the marker scribble In my example I used the large flower from "Think Big" set once you get your images stamp the way you want apply clear embossing over top of your images and tap off any extra back into the embossing jar .. Then heat set with your heat gun. For the next step I did find it easier to take my brayer ( rubber attachment or foam attachment ) and run your brayer over Black ink pad and apply the brayer and run across your glossy CS back and forth adding more ink until you get the coverage you want .. ( Note : you should only be able to see the images that were clear embossed ) You can also use your black marker if you don’t have a brayer for this technique it works great also . just scribble the black marker all over your piece of glossy instead of your brayer . Once you have applied the black ink in either fashion and the black ink has dried , take a tissue and buff your glossy cs . The embossed images will pop out at you with your scribbles of your 3 coordinating colors underneath. How cool is that ? Dawns side note ..Black ink will stain your rubber brayer attachment Which because of this it is always a good reason to have 2 rubber attachments one set aside just for your black ink projects and one for all your other ink choices . for my color choices with my marker scribble I used orchid opulence , Lovely Lilac, and going Gray .. I used the "Happy" stamp from Polka dots and paisley set ( coming out on March 1st ) and the circle "Day "stamp is from Think Big set I used both the 1 1/4 and 1 3/8 circle punch for the "Day" and popped it up on a dimensional . I really love this oldie but newbie technique . doesn’t this project look cute with my purple blog back ground ? Love Love them purples. Well tonight I am going to be stamping again with some more friends Check it out HERE! Great time last night . Wait until you see an upcoming project I am going to start I have High hope this may be the ONE .. Of course until the ink hits the paper I have high hopes. My mom is doing much better so what ever she did have it lasts only 24 hours Thank God .This Stomach flu is the worst.. Thank you to all of you who bought more of my scissor charms yesterday . LOVE LOVE LOVE my scissor charms! I just gave Gabbie hers and she can’t wait to put it on her scissors at school. Hmmmm, I see more sales coming your way when all the kids see it.
I had such a great time last night at class! I will never figure out how you come up with some of your ideas! Your too clever for me. Anyone going to Dawnies class tonight….look OUT, she is gonna blow you away with her projects. Anyone NOT going to Dawnins class tonight….Shame on you. HA HA
Hi Dawn!! About the brayer…. I was just curious if you have ever used Kiss Off? I love the stuff!! It gets a good majority of the black ink off the brayer and other stamps. It can be found in the stamping section of your craft store or in the “spot remover” section of a fabric store. It is a stick with a twisty thing on the bottom like chapstick. They cost about $4. BTW, I love the card! Purple is the best (my fav)!!
OMG! The card was awesome in person, I can say that cause I got to see it after our fantastic class was over Saturday night!
I must say when I got home and showed Alayna, there was one card that she kept saying “do it again”, “do it again”, “do it again”. I’ll let you guess which one it was…………….., but one hint is that the cs for the main card was pink:)
Oops, also, of course the scissor charm I picked for Alayna wasn’t the one she wanted. I had to give up my magenta one for her and she put it on her belt loop of her jeans! Look out!
