This is the shadow box I was telling you about yesterday That I plan to make a few of to send to hubby to hand out… This teddy bear set is actually My moms , I have the old Button bear set so I combined them to make this cute shadow box card . The bigger Honey jar and the bees are from my button bear set and the teddy bear and small honey jar he is holding is from my moms new set I used the heart background stamp from Beyond the basics and used my white gel pen to color the hearts in . Dazzling diamonds was added to the bees wings , honey jar and the 2 buttons on the bear .. You can find my shadow Box tutorial HERE and also here on Splitcoast Stampers Tutorial . Can you believe I didn’t use cool caribbean and or pixie pink .. I did use one of my other Favorite colors though for my shadow box .. Certainly celery along with whisper white
Today is the day My honey bunch is leaving for Iraq. He is flying out this afternoon . He was confirmed of his flight last night . I have already talked to him this morning and he has to be on the shuttle bus at 5:15am this morning with his Luggage and checked out of his hotel .. Pretty weird that he is actually leaving for Iraq today cause My Dads birthday is today also He would have been 63 years old today.. So many things left to say Before the phone calls will be gone for awhile .. He has a 3 hr flight to Washington DC and then on to Kuwait for a few days for more training, then he will be leaving for His actual location where he will be for 1 year . Today I am not a happy camper .. seems to be a down day for so many reasons mostly sad cause I miss him so much and I wont be able to talk to him after today for awhile ..I do want to give you all a heads up for tomorrow cause its gonna be a blog candy give-a-way day, Nothing HUGE .. I missed your earlier posts about your husband. Is he in the service? I really feel for you. My husband just returned from Iraq where he served in the army in Mosul for a little over a year. He was an advisor to the Iraqi army and lived with the Iraqi soldiers. I’ll be thinking of you as you go through this challenging year, and you and your family are in my prayers!

Well girlfriend, what can I say that I didn’t already say last night, but you already know you and your family have been in my prayers ever since you told me about this opportunity.
Now, onto more brighter and happier thoughts…………………..drum rolllllllllllllll…. You get to say “I told you so”, after how many years I’ve been with you that I finally got the SU scissors, let me just say I was able to cut out nine (9) sets, yes count them 9, in the hour that I watched my show Medium last night! Can you believe 9 of them? And, I still have another half of a box to go! Yesterday, I brought 1 set to cut out at work on my lunch hour and it took 2 minutes! Oh why oh why didn’t I get these years sooner? It would have made all those great sets I got from you so much easier to cut & mount then put to use! I could just kick myself. You know what the best part about these SU scissors is? You’re marvelous scissor charms! There’s no mistaking these are “mom’s” scissors with that little bit of dawn’s bling bling, KWIM?
Dawn…I so share your thoughts and concerns for your husband going “over there”. Our daughter (mom of 3 little ones) left last week for Afghanistan for 6 months. It is scary. Keep the faith and pray a lot!!

Dawn, My heart is with you this evening. Both my husband and I are military brats, and have two nephews in the military, one serving in Iraq right now. It was always so hard to send our fathers off one more time (during the Viet Nam era). You never get used to it. But we are proud of our military heritage. It taught us alot of life lessons that we wouldn’t trade for the world. I just want to thank you and your family and of course you “Honey Bunch” for what you are sacrificing. Stand firm in your faith girlie. You will remain in my prayers. I pray a restful evening for you.

I was a military wife for 14 years (DH retired in 03) so I know just what you are going through. The first few weeks are the hardest – those and the last few weeks before he comes home which just cccrrraaaawwwwllll by. Chin up, girlie : )

My prayers are definately wtih you. It takes an amazing woman to hold down the fort while hubby does an amazing job over there. Of course when my husband was deployed, I kept joking with him that he was playing in the sand. Just take it one day at a time and get into a routine and you’ll find that the time will fly. You’ll do a great job of staying busy with that new cuttlebug! I had three kiddos to keep me busy. Hugs and prayers!
