Happy Sunday friends!
This past Tuesday Jessie celebrated her 17th Birthday and to celebrate her BIG day I took her balloons up to her at school BUT… I think she kinda knew that her mom would do that ( cause I do that every year for her ) .
This year though I knew I would throw her for a loop cause I bought one of those markers for writting on windows YUP!! you got it I wrote Happy 17th Birthday on the car so when she came out of school she had a surprise waiting for her :)
Gotta love it when you get a chance to surprise a teenage .. the funny thing was she thought her friends did it .. I guess she knew her mom isn't one for throwing her a curve it's usually her Dad that does that kinda stuff ..
What a Sight that was I am sure, seeing her drive down the road with a back seat full of balloons and Happy Birthday written on the car ( side windows & back ) .. If I had it to do all over again I would have wrote HONK it's my Birthday But it was a last minute thing and didn't think of it at the time ..Even though she did say there were still a few Honk's on her way home that day LOL !
What else has been going on ?
This past Thursday My Mom and I went to see Glenn Beck's The Christmas Story~A return to Redemption.
It was Amazing .. He will have an encore presentation on Dec 10th If you get a chance to go here is his link to get tickets .. better yet read the book too ..
Then last night Jessie and I went with a bunch of friends from church to see Apologetix. WOWZIE it was sooo FABULOUS .
Click HERE to view their website .They are sooo AWESOME the way they take today's modern music and make it into a Christian song with a message.
We picked up another CD of theirs last night, We got "Future Tense" LOVE IT!! There is a song on there called Iraq & Iran sang to Jack & Diane sooo awesome !
Have any of you read this book called Christmas Jars ?
Click HERE for the link .Please take a moment and read the stories of the Christmas Jar Miracles over there . You may want to get your klneex as well 🙂
Click HERE for a quick over view what Christmas Jars really is .
I have heard so much about this book .. and the funny thing is my Family always collects our change. At one time about 6 years ago we had a 5 gallon water jug filled ,which we cashed in for a family Vacation to Flordia anyway the book " Christmas Jars" is about doing this BUT the twist on it is on Christmas Eve you take your Christmas Jar and very quitely go to someones house
(you may know them personally Or may be a stranger to you but know of their situation ) and you just leave the Christmas jar on their door step for Christmas morning ( NO message who it is from~ It would be like a Secret Santa ) .. Ring the doorbell and RUN …
How AWSOME is that !!
You may not know the rest of the story after you drop your Christmas jar off to a family BUT one thing is for sure you will be soo Blessed to know you helped bring a smile to someone at Christmas time .
I know it may be to late to get a Christmas Jar going for this year But why not start one for Next year .. what an AWESOME Christmas tradition to start with your Family . We have already started on our Christmas Jar
Update on Hubby : He will be home for Christmas this year for 2 weeks PLUS He is also on the 1st step of getting his application in for working with the State dept over at the Embassy in Baghdad . He has been trying to get this Embassy job over the last 3 years and well now He has finally been in contact with a few people via email and things are rolling .. Nothing confirmed as of yet But at least it's a step forward .

Lots of great stuff to share today Dawn! Your daughter is such a cutie like her Mom!!! Fingers crossed for your husband and I’m THRILLED he’ll be home for Christmas!
Thanks for posting that about Christmas jars. I didn’t look at the site yet, but I will. My husband has been out of work for 13 months+ now. It’s been hard. We have had our share of “Jars” dropped at our house. Some we know who the giver is, and several we did not. It’s been our church, our family, our friends, and annonymous folks who know we need the help.
My huasbnad has a very promising job interview tomorrow morning at 10 – if you think to pray, we’d LOVE it!! I am feeling very confident and peaceful that this is the job God has for him for right now.
Now that you have pointed me in the direction of this jars site, I will start a jar for next Christmas!! I can’t wait to be the one helping and not getting helped! It’s a blessing to receive, and it will be so much more a blessing to give!! 🙂
Thank you for sharing your creative and spiritual side with us 🙂
God bless you and your family this year!
Today you made me smile and it feels good! The video is wonderful and it brings everything home. Every word in it is truth! It is God’s birthday and it is Christmas! I always say Merry Christmas even if someone else says Happy Holidays! Thanks again!
Happy 17th birthday to Jesse too! Sounds like she had a great day..
Will be praying for the family out of work for 13 mo and hoping that tomorrow’s interview lands him the position. God is great and prayer does wonderful things for us.
So happy to hear your husband will be home for Christmas with the family. Keep us posted on his Embassy job application.
Have a great day! You made mine and it is still early!
Sheila
Dawn – I always love coming to your site and seeing what you have to show us. Not only do you show us wonderfully creative cards and goodies but you show us inspiration, words to live by, videos and more. I especially love your Sunday posts as I have many times gotten so much out of them. I went to the Christmas Jar site and yes, I shed a few tears. I also ordered the book and the 2nd book as well. I have never heard of this but what an awesome thing to do. Many are struggling out there what a great way to help. I too will say a prayer for the above family that the husband gets that job :).
Happy Birthday Jesse! What an exciting year.
Thanks Dawn for all you do.

Thanks for sharing this awesome video Dawn. I am putting it on mny Facebook page.
Oh, oh, oh! We <3 ApologetiX!! We have been blessed enough to have hosted them twice in our small town - the last time just a few weeks ago. We've had personal dealings with the guys in the band and they are just wonderful Christian guys. I am so thrilled whenever someone "discovers" them for the first time. 🙂 So glad you enjoyed their concert!
