Hey dawn, pauline here from Oz. Still loving you site….we were also told today of the new colour families, great huh! but I will miss some..close to cocoa 🙁 I do wish we could keep Kiwi Kiss and maybe ditch Wild Wasabi..lol..Take Care
Oh man! Very upset about the color news……Why can’t we have the “In Colors” and not mess with everything??? I’ll be sad to lose so many favs for paper!
Where is a new flesh/skin tone colot?
Thanks Dawn. Do you know if they are retiring the Kraft cardstock??? I hope not.
Sounds like this should be exciting news… but I am very disappointed with it!!!! …especially in this day and time with our economy. I can’t afford to replace all these colors, and try to stock up on the retiring colors. …especially after just having bought a whole set of ink pads in the “old” color groups. This is aweful! …and look how many purples are retiring!!! There are now only 2 purples!!! …much less variety with the “new” color groups!
no close to cocoa, creamy caramel, & Barely Banana???? There aren’t enough med browns in the new collection!!! They have to add close to cocoa 🙁 How about dumping Soft Suede & add close to cocoa 🙂 I am happy Wild Wasabi & Riding Hood Red are back 🙂 I would have loved Kiwi Kiss back too 🙂 Thanks for the update Dawn- you’re the best!
Dawn,
I read your blog EVERDAY and L-O-V-E your style, projects and enthusiasm. However, I cannot SHARE your excitement with this rediculous decision SU has made to TOTALLY mess with the color palette. Are they clueless to our economic situation? Why would they economically burden the customer with such nonsense? Like someone said above – who can afford to purchase SO many new inks, pads, paper, let alone stock up on all of the retiring colors? Also, I HATE the fact they are retiring so many purples – seriously – YOU can’t be happy with that either! This is all too much at one time. I can understand changing a FEW colors, but this is out of control. I hope if we all speak up they MAY re-think their decision. We need our demonstrators to speak for us – PLEASE! No matter what – I will still continue to follow your blog because YOU ARE AWSOME!Thanks for listening!!
Dawn, I amen the lady’s that are upset with su decision on retiring 30!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! colors. Money does not grow on trees. What about the lady’s who just bought pads, ink refills, pens and card stock to be told sorry we (SU) knowing sold you supplies that will be out of stock in July. Do not worry, you can buy more new colors it is only money (yours) I love your blog Please be our voice.
I am NOT happy about S-UP retiring certain colors either!! I have SAVED and SAVED to gradually build up my ink pad(s) and markers so “eventually” I MIGHT be able to have all 48 colors for just the BASIC stamping items..and that doesn’t include paper, ribbons, ink refills, etc., etc…only to read now that some are retiring…VERY DISAPPOINTED as I was told when I FIRST started S-UP, NOT to worry as the 48 colors would ALWAYS be available to build my collection…I realize it’s NOT you making the change, but “I” will not be able to afford to start another collection even if SOME of the colors aren’t being retired…just can’t afford it.
Oh my gosh…you are kidding me ?? I was just able to get one complete set of ink pads in one of the groups, only to read now that some of the colors will no longer be available?? This sickens me..literally. It has taken me 4 yrs. to get just the 48 ink pads as I could afford to do so. I think they need to leave the 48 colors they have now “as is” !! and ADD additional collections versus retiring colors in the current 48 color pallete(s). I believe this is going to hurt S-UP in the long run. Just MY opinion…but their products are NOT cheap, and there are LOTS of other sources out there similar and a lot less expensive…times are tough…what were they thinking???
I know this is a HUGE change But 1 Thing I know is Stampin’Up! didnt make this change without yrs of thought, market research and personally I feel this change is over due. There are colors I never use and even have forced myself to use many of those colors are in the bold bright family that I never use or very rarely use . Side note (10) of the past IN colors are returning & added to the core color collections and (25) of the core colors that SU! currently have will be carried over PLUS (5 )brand new core colors will be added in the new catalog . So in a nut shell we will be adding those past (10) In colors to the core color collection which includes 5 new core colors . The (5) New In colors will be announced with the new 2010/ 2011 catalog . I am very excited about the new Fresh and vibrant colors . SU! will offer many color kits to give us the basics of the new colors and will be available for 1 year . I have yet to use and or see these colors in real life BUT I know they will be sooo fabulous. Stay tuned for more details closer to July . P.S The Crumb Cake is the Kraft just gave it a new jazzy name

P.S Blush Blossom marker will still be available for skin tones BUT only in the marker
