Hi Stampers :
Happy Sunday Friends !
Over Memorial weekend Hubby and I were busy working in the yard and also working on our rental house .
The flower beds at our home needed some major cleaning up & some moving .
We have a couple Holly bushes, Hey did you know Holly Bushes grow much better on the East side of your house .. Well we didn't know that so we dug those up and moved them and cleaned out all the ivy ( see before photo) PLUS we got a bunch of new goodies for the front.
We already had a few Peonies (we kept them just moved them around ) . I have always loved Cone flowers so we got some of those for the front . We also have a bunch of Lazy Susans in the back yard ( My most favorite ) .
We have mostly sandy soil so these are what we found that will work for us .
A few others we planted that I remember without running outside are :
- Feather Reed Grass
- Maiden Grass
- Asiatic Lillies ( Tiny Dino )
- Gaillardia's ( Arizona Sun ) see photo below.
We also picked up some Petunias for the pool area ( see photo ) . Hey notice the colors of those LOL ! Purple and White.
With 1 flower bed done we only have 3 more to tackle . Of all days to pick to do the front flower bed it was seriously HOT HOT HOT it was 96 out but it felt like mid 100's LOL! I am not sure who drank the most water me or hubby .
Then Saturday & Sunday we painted the rental house and this past Thursday Hubby got off work early due to rain so he got to work on the Kitchen and dinning room wood floor … Looks amazing ! I will post pics of all that soon .
Yesterday we got hubby a new remote garage door opener and then he programed my universal remote in my car ( LOVE IT!)
Jessie is on the hunt for another car ( newer BUT not brand new ) she has the 2002 Grand Prix and with her driving farther to work every day she needs something more dependable in snow, so the searching has begun .
Jessie seems to really like the Pontiac Vibe.
Anyone know anything about this vehicle ?
Well that's our past week in a nutshell .
Here is my Sunday Share video for you today . Every time I watch this video is makes me laugh . I posted this video awhile ago but I thought we could use a good giggle today 🙂 .
Have a Wonderful Sunday friends .
Until later.. Happy Stampin!
GOOD MORNING DAWN!!!!!!! LOVE that video too!!!!! (Gotta show my kids!)
Your hubby looks like mine! If you go to my blog, you’ll see what we’re up to! I’m SOOO GLAD our hubbies don’t mind getting SOOOO DIRTY! 🙂
HOW did you get rid of the IVY?????? We have some we need to get rid of too! Our old home, had it MAJOR when we moved in! By the time we left, 15 yrs. later, it had destroyed one of our trees! That stuff is pretty to look at & nice in a confined pot, BUT NOT out in the yard!!!!!!!!Your house & yard look BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🙂 LOVE your flower picks/pics! 🙂
Hi Dawn. That Youtube video is an all time favorite of mine. I watch it over and over…!
We also have sandy soil here in our area of upstate NY, so I will take note of the types of flowers you said grow well for you.
Good luck to Jessie on her hunt for a new car.
Thanks for all your inspiration!
Subaru’s are really, really good in the snow. I drive a Legacy and it looks like a smaller Lexus. Love it.
Hi Dawn,
I have a 2005 vibe. I love it and would get another one if they were still availble but Pontiac is out. Mine did great in snow but the tires need to be in good condition. Not more than 2 years old . My car did slide in the snow when I went around a corner. But I think any car will if the driving conditions are bad.
Good luck in finding one!!
Yes I have a 2004 vibe.. It is going on 140,000 miles and I love it… Great in the snow and perfect for hauling all the Su! stuff from workshop to workshop. My SIL has one that has almost 300,000 miles and still loves it!
